RESULTS OF SGRA’S PAVEMENT SURVEY TAKEN BETWEEN MARCH TO MAY 2024

21 May 2024

Southfields Grid Residents' Association

From March to May this year, a survey was carried out by our Street Representatives (of which many thanks)  to report on the quality of pavement surfaces in roads/streets of the Grid, namely:

  • Streets – Astonville, Clonmore, Elborough, Engadine, Elsenham, Heythorp & Trentham;
  • Roads – Brookwood, Lavenham, Merton, Pirbright, Replingham & Revelstoke and Hanford Close

SGRA started this exercise after hearing from people (including members of SGRA) who had tripped up on paving slabs which were either uneven or broken. We then asked our street representatives s to record where they found loose, uneven, missing, badly cracked paving surfaces including those which could be a trip hazard.  Against each road and street, the combined number of incidents are as follows:

Wandsworth Borough Council have started to improve the pavements in Southfields Grid- with Hanford Close done, Brookwood Road started and some pavement slabs in Heythorp Street replaced.  Notwithstanding that, today we sent a detailed spreadsheet to the Council of the evidence gathered by our Street Representatives on behalf of all the residents in their street/road/close.
