Hi everyone
We met with our MP Fleur Anderson and GLA representative Leonie Cooper yesterday. They were unanimous: we need a big show of public support at City Hall on Friday September 27th when the GLA considers AELTC’s plans to turn Wimbledon Park into an industrial tennis complex. So please join us for the GLA Hearing! Everyone is very welcome.
Address is City Hall, The Chamber, Kamal Chunchie Way, London E16 1ZE. Here is how to get there https://www.london.gov.uk/who-we-are/city-halls-buildings-and-squares/how-find-city-hall
The Hearing starts at 10.00am, but doors open at 08.30am and there are only 140 seats (we are negotiating for additional space) so we recommend getting there as early as you can.
Wear your Save Wimbledon Park T shirts and bring your banners, although they might have to be left outside – security is strict. As always we are anticipating a good media turnout. Feel free to come dressed as a giant strawberry (oh, just me then).
Tell your friends, bring your relatives, pass the word to your networks – we need to fill the public gallery and make a noise on the green outside
Any questions please email me at
All the best
Simon Wright
