Dear Lavenham Street Resident
I’m Eddie Lewis and I’ve lived on the Grid for several decades and am your Lavenham Road Representative. One of my loves is singing and Music Hall and you can hear me performing at this year’s Golden Oldies Party organised by Mike Caswell and supported by the SGRA.
I’m not very active but I am aware of the many issues facing Grid Residents and Businesses. If you have any issues relating to Lavenham Road and you dont have any success going through the usual channels with the Council or other body including your Ward Councillors etc, please drop a note through my door at #4 Lavenham and I’ll pass it on to a member of the SGRA Committee
You may also want to ‘move on’ that item of vintage or antique furniture, books, clothing, shoes and children’s things like baby clothes, toys and bikes that they’ve outgrown. Whether you want to sell it or is offered free to a good home, sign up and become a website member and its FREE. You can then sit back and pass it on locally very easily without the added cost of packaging and posting especially as our local Southfields Post Office may close.
There aere not many shop premises left now in Lavenham Road as in the past and I can recall several that were converted to homes such as the boot repairers on the corner of Lavenham and Trentham. There were builders as well and it’s good to see that there is a new DIY shop and Lavenham Mini Mart is still going. However, If you have a business that you run from home and want to promote, advertise or present at one of the monthly SGRA meetings, please drop me a note or let one of the Committee Members know.
The SGRA Newsletter, comes out up to 4 times a year and contains many adverts but please also check out the Website advert section, there’s many Shops/Business featured. The Website adverts are free until the end of March. After that you will have to pay a fee of about a £1 a week for your advert but you will be able to manage it and link it to your own website.
