The Queens Diamond Jubilee Trentham Street Party Update!

The plans for the Trentham Street Queens Diamond Jubilee Street Party are progressing nicely. The group of organisers met again in February and our priority was to get permission from Wandsworth Council to hold the party. The good news is the Council are happy with our application so it’s all steam ahead for the party.

We’ve also had a good response to the flyers and a lot of interest in the party, including a local estate agents and curry house.

So how about a street party starting with afternoon tea? (if anyone wants to go and see the Queen on the Thames there is still time to come to the party). Sharkey and George, children’s entertainers will be joining us for a few hours and there could even be a few competitions for best crown, best costume and best cake in the great Trentham Street Bake Off. Any ideas for games for children or adults would be gratefully received. You’d also be very welcome to come along, sit and have a chat over a cuppa. We’re hoping to have some music but have agreed with the council to keep it quiet by 9pm and not have anything so loud we rattle windows! We might even round the day off with a very large take away curry delivered to the street.

It’s not too late to let us know if you live on Trentham Street and you’d like to come along. We’d love to hear from you if you have any ideas or would like to help out.

Please watch this space and we’ll be in touch with an updated flyer.
